General
- All the students will be treated as equal, irrespective of their sex, belief or their category of the seat. Students showing keen interest in activities will receive full encouragement.
- All the students shall abide by the rules and regulations laid down by the Institute from time to time.
- Admission to the Institute shall explicitly imply that the student and his/her parents have made themselves conversant with the rules and regulations of the institute and the provisions of the ordinances of the University.
- The candidates whose result of the qualifying examination is not declared before the submission of the examination form shall not be eligible for admission under any circumstances.
- If a document/declaration submitted by a candidate is found to be false at any stage during his/her admission shall be cancelled and he/she may be liable for prosecution under the law without any refund of fee.
- The institute reserves the right to make necessary amendments to the rules & regulations, course, fees etc. as considered necessary and deemed appropriate from time to time.
Code of Conduct
- The students shall observe strict discipline and decorum of the Institute at all times. Any act of indiscipline, e.g. use of abusive language, assault and affray, indecent behavior towards faculty members and employees of the institute, disfiguring of walls etc. damage and destruction of institute property and such like acts shall constitute acts of indiscipline against the institute and shall make a student liable to disciplinary action including expulsion from the institute without any notice. No fees shall be refundable in all such cases.
- The student shall maintain discipline at all times inside and outside the college premises. Acts like fighting, consuming alcohol, theft, etc. shall be severely dealt with and treated as act of indiscipline against the institute.
- Use and/or possession of fire arms, knife, hockey sticks, base ball bat, etc. inside and outside the institute and/or hostel constitute a grievous offence punishable under IPC and shall be treated as indiscipline against the institute.
- Consumption and/or possession of alcoholic drinks, cigarettes, pan-masala, gutka, drugs, etc. inside and outside the institute and/or hostel constitute an offence and shall be dealt with severely including expulsion.
- There is a dress code for boys and girls. This is mandatory for the students to put on the proper attire while attending classes/practical and on formal occasions. Without proper uniform, they will not be allowed to attend the classes.
- Students whose conduct or attendance, or progress is not satisfactory, will not be allowed to appear for the examinations, and are also liable to be asked to leave the institute.
Attendance and Leave
- Students must be regular and punctual at lectures, demonstrations, seminars, practical, field work and other such academic exercise. They are required to attend all the attendance working periods in each of the prescribed subjects. 75% attendance is compulsory for appearing in the examinations, failing which the student may be detained from appearing in the examination.
- The attendance shall be counted from the date of admission or start of the academic session, whichever is later.
- All students shall attend classes and practical periods and take session examinations as per the academic calendar.
- In case of absence in classes, a leave application must be submitted through course coordinator to the Director/Principal mentioning reasons of absence.
- Leave of absence from the institute may be granted to a student on production of written request from the parents/local guardian on the sole discretion of the Director/Principal.
- Prizes will be given to outstanding performers in each discipline, students showing 100% attendance in a semester shall be awarded.
Fee
- All the students must pay their fees and institutional dues regularly and in time. Annual fees have to be deposited within a week of the starting of the session, after summer vacation. After this, late fees of Rs. 50 per day shall be charged for further 7 days after which their names may be struck off the rolls.
- Non-payment of fees and other dues may debar a student from attending the college or even from appearing in the examinations.
- Students shall retain the original receipt of all deposits/payments to the account section for final clearance at the end of the course.
- Security deposit will not be adjusted against the dues outstanding. It shall be refunded at the end of the course on production of original receipt.
Evaluation
- The students are evaluated continuously throughout the semester. Continuous evaluation comprises of class assignments and sessional tests having weightings as prescribed by the university.
- All students shall ensure that they score maximum marks in the internal examinations. They shall aim to score at least 80% marks, if not better. Scoring lesser than 60% marks will make the students work harder for the external examinations as they must score at least an overall average of 40% marks in each subject (internal + External) to pass. They must also score a minimum of 30% in each theory paper in the end semester examination to pass.
- A student shall secure a minimum percentage of marks in the aggregate of each academic year inclusive of both the semesters (as prescribed by the university) to pass.
Additional rules for Hostellers
- No outsider except parents shall be allowed in the hostel premises.
- Hostellers shall not allow any unauthorized person to enter or stay in their room.
- Hostellers shall abide with all the provisions of Droan Group of College.
- Hostellers shall retain the hostel accommodation for the full academic session. Anyone leave the hostel during the academic session shall pay the hostel charge for full academic year.
- Hostellers shall be liable to pay for any damage caused by them to the property of the institution either alone or jointly with others and face disciplinary action.
- The management has the full authority for the inspection of the rooms, bags, almirahs or any of their personal belongings at any time.
- Hostellers shall not misuse electricity by using electrical gadgets like heaters, juicers, audio players etc.
- If hostellers being absent from the hostel without prior permission, he/she is liable for any disciplinary action.
- The students will be allowed to go for shopping once in a month.
Complete Ban on Ragging
- Ragging in any form on the Campus or off the Campus premises is strictly prohibited. Necessary penal action will be taken against those found guilty of indulging/indulged in any unlawful activities.
- An anti ragging squad exclusively of 5 members takes cares of ordinance relating to maintenance of discipline amongst students in terms of ragging activities. This squad controls the conducts or practice by which the dominant power as status of senior students is brought to bear upon the students who are in any way considered junior or inferior by former. The squad also restricts verbal abuse, mental or physical torture, aggression, corporal punishment, harassment, obscene behavior etc. amongst students.
RTI Act
College is following the RTI Act to provide for setting out the practical regime of right to information for citizens to secure access to information under the control of college authorities, in order to promote transparency and accountability.
Women Protection Cell
College’s Women Protection Cell aims to make students aware of Gender Equity and help students to change their mindset and attitudes towards life in terms of Women. It encourage greater participation and to develop responsible and value oriented leadership in Female students. The main aims are :-
- To build a society with social and economic gender equality as envisaged in the Indian Constitution through social service.
- To reach out to Women in the rural areas and make them aware of their social and legal rights and to equip them to stand against gender violence and gender discrimination
- To create awareness, instill values and develop the personality and leadership quality in the members.
